Hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, the competition is being organized within the framework of the 10th İzmir International Literature Festival. Coordinated by the Municipality’s Directorate of Libraries, the initiative aims to encourage young people’s interest in literature and support their creative expression skills. The competition is open to preparatory, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade high school students from across Türkiye. Participants may submit original works in the categories of poetry, short story and essay, all centered on the theme “Literature Heals.”
Results to Be Announced on 30 August
Prizes will be awarded to the top entries in each category. The first-place winner will receive 30,000 Turkish liras (TL), second place 20,000 TL, third place 15,000 TL, and the honorable mention award 10,000 TL. Applications will remain open until 31 July. Following the evaluation process, the results will be announced on 30 August. The awards will be presented during a ceremony held as part of the festival between 25–27 September.
This year’s jury panel consists of Zeynep Uzunbay, Mavisel Yener and Yusuf Alper for the poetry category; Ferda İzbudak, Hüseyin Peker and Polat Özlüoğlu for the short story category; and Altay Ömer Erdoğan, Hülya Soyşekerci and Ünal Ersözlü for the essay category.
