İzmir Metro Inc., a subsidiary of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, will host the Eurasia Conference of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) from July 1–3, 2026. Bringing together transport experts from around the world, the conference will pave the way for significant collaborations in the fields of sustainable and smart public transportation.

İzmir will host a major international gathering in the public transport sector this July. İzmir Metro Inc., which has been providing rail transit services in the city for 26 years, will host the UITP Eurasia Conference organized by the International Association of Public Transport, a global organization with more than 2,000 members from over 100 countries. The conference, to be held at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center from July 1–3, will bring together transportation professionals from various countries around the world.

Organized for More Than 20 Years
The UITP Eurasia Conference will bring together public authorities, operators, technology providers, and academia to discuss topics including the planning and operation of metro, tram, bus, and multimodal transport systems, as well as digitalization, artificial intelligence, decarbonization, electrification, and modal shift.
For more than 20 years, the International Association of Public Transport has regularly organized regional events that facilitate the exchange of best practices and emerging technologies on a global scale. The conference provides a platform for sharing knowledge in areas such as smart transport systems, sustainable energy, and digital ticketing, while also offering access to international financing and investment opportunities. Through its extensive network spanning Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East, UITP promotes inter-institutional cooperation and joint projects and plays a leading role in the development of sustainable and inclusive transport policies.

A Significant Contribution to İzmir
Headquartered in Brussels, the International Association of Public Transport operates as a global organization with more than 2,000 members from over 100 countries. Its membership includes municipalities, transport operators, public authorities, private sector representatives, and research institutions. Hosting a prestigious event such as the UITP Eurasia Conference will strengthen İzmir’s international visibility and standing while also making a significant contribution to the technical and institutional capacity of İzmir Metro Inc.
