Hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, the 14th International Conference on Critical Education (ICCE 2026) will take place at Historical Coal Gas Factory between July 2-5, 2026. With the theme “Reimagining the Classroom in Authoritarian Times”, the conference will bring together academics, educators and researchers from different countries around the world in İzmir.

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality is preparing to host a major international event. The 14th International Conference on Critical Education (ICCE 2026) will be held at Historical Coal Gas Factory Sanat Café in Alsancak from 2 to 5 July 2026. The conference, with the theme of “Reimagining the Classroom in Authoritarian Times”, is expected to attract numerous participants from Türkiye and abroad. The conference, organized by the International Conference on Critical Education (ICCE), an international network, will bring together academics, educators, researchers, union representatives, and representatives of civil society organizations. Renowned experts in the field will examine current challenges in education through a critical perspective. The three-day conference program will run daily from 10:00 to 20:00.
