Organized in collaboration with İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and the İzmir Branch of the Polyphonic Choruses Association of Türkiye, the festival will be hosted at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center. Now in its fifth edition, the festival will welcome numerous school and community choirs from locations ranging from Greece to Hakkari.
Promoting Local Voices on a Universal Stage
The İzmir International Polyphonic Choirs Festival aims to contribute to the universal development of national music through polyphonic choral performance while providing a platform for choirs, conductors, and music educators working in the field to showcase their talents and exchange experiences. Through the concerts held as part of the festival, the event also seeks to strengthen social interaction among choirs and their members while offering audiences distinguished selections from both Turkish and international choral repertoires.
Strong Participation from Across the Region
This year’s festival is expected to offer a vibrant and diverse program, with the participation of choir artists from Greece. Choirs from cities and regions stretching from İstanbul and Antalya to Ordu and Isparta will take part in the event. A total of 70 choirs and 2,560 choir artists will participate in the festival this year. All concerts will be open to the public and free of charge. The closing award ceremony will be held on 24 May at 4:30 p.m..
