Ahmed Adnan Saygun Arts Center, one of İzmir’s leading venues for cultural and artistic events, hosted a special concert by the İzmir Chamber Orchestra this evening. The concert, held in the grand hall of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality venue and beginning at 8:00 p.m., was attended by numerous art enthusiasts as well as guests of the International İzmir Cultural Policies Workshop, which began today and will continue for two days.
Distinguished Repertoire Receives Great Acclaim
The soloists of the concert were Jana Kuss, first violinist of the prestigious Kuss Quartet founded in Berlin in 1991, and violist William Coleman. A special repertoire featuring distinguished chamber music works was presented to the audience.
Led by William Coleman, the concert was performed in two parts with a short intermission. At the beginning of the concert, Jana Kuss addressed the audience through an interpreter, providing information about the pieces performed and thanking attendees for joining the event.
Following the approximately 50-minute first part, William Coleman shared brief insights into the stories behind the pieces in the repertoire and the periods to which they belong. During the second part, which lasted around 40 minutes, the harmony and performance of the İzmir Chamber Orchestra musicians stood out. The strong on-stage partnership between Jana Kuss and William Coleman transformed the evening into an unforgettable musical experience for the people of İzmir.
