Altan Doğan, the successful national gymnast of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club, continued his impressive 2026 season by winning the gold medal with the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Team at the 20th Mediterranean Games. Adding another achievement to his career, Doğan continues to compete for medals in the individual apparatus events at the Mediterranean Games.

National gymnast Altan Doğan of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club continued his successful 2026 season by winning the gold medal with the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Team at the 20th Mediterranean Games, held in Taranto, Italy. In the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Team Final, the national team, featuring Altan Doğan, finished at the top of the standings to claim the gold medal. In addition to Altan Doğan, the team consisted of Ferhat Arıcan, Alperen Ege Avcı, İbrahim Çolak, Mert Efe Kılıçer and Mehmet Ayberk Koşak. The successful national gymnast continues his pursuit of medals in the individual apparatus events at the Mediterranean Games. Altan Doğan also advanced to the final in the parallel bars qualification. Our athlete will compete for a medal in the final on Wednesday, 2 September.

Consecutive Successes in 2026
Altan Doğan has achieved significant results at national and international competitions in 2026. In May, the national gymnast won the gold medal in the parallel bars event at the Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup held in Bulgaria. In July, he became the Turkish champion in the same apparatus at the Turkish Interclub Championships. At the same championships, Altan Doğan also won a bronze medal in the rings event and contributed to the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club’s third-place finish in the senior men’s team all-around, helping the club secure the bronze trophy. Competing in the senior category for the first time at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Zagreb, Croatia, Altan Doğan advanced to the final after placing sixth in the parallel bars qualification with a score of 14.100. He also scored 14.100 in the final, finishing fifth in Europe. Following these achievements in 2026, Altan Doğan added another significant accomplishment to his career by winning team gold at the Mediterranean Games.
